Veronica Hearst’s contributions

Veronica Hearst is not only well known as a socialite but also as an active worker for charitable causes. Her effortless dedication and passion is clearly reflected in her contributions to the betterment of the society by not only pointing out and recognizing the problems of the society but even taking the responsibility in her own hands and passionately working towards it which not many people do. It is very easy to point out all problems but taking the responsibility of resolving those problems is not an easy task. Hence, Veronica Hearst is one of the few people who do so.

Her publication: “Visions: 50 years of the United Nations” played a very important role because it was the first history in pictures of organization. Moreover her contribution to publications is not limited to this; a documentary even followed this publication.

Furthermore, she identified the major problem of hunger crisis in America and therefore, founded the American Alliance for Hunger (AHA). The aim of this alliance was to resolve this major problem by providing emergency food supplies to the less fortunate Americans. Following her “Think Globally and act accordingly and Local” strategy she emphasized on the fact that malnutrition among children was the cause of several social problems arising in America because of the fact that malnutrition greatly affects development of brain and hence performance. Therefore, by founding this American Hunger Alliance (AHA) she made sure that nutritious food was provided especially to children under the age of 4.
